Loaded with embellishment, color, and humor, Rachel McCormick’s artwork comments on human behavior and pop culture. Not limited to one dimension or medium, her practice runs the gamut of paintings, wearable pieces, performance, and sculptures. Over exaggerated and disturbing visuals are paired with the investigation and portrayal of excess. Through this excess, she adopts caricatures to depict her experiences, wishes, and fears. Bright and highly-saturated colors, softly-textured materials, and collected plastic items permeate her work.
Rachel lives in Philadelphia and graduated with her BFA in Fiber and Material Studies from Tyler School of Art & Architecture in 2022.
